A recap of Altitude Sickness.....

Dates: Oct 7-Oct.16 2011
Location: Hawaii (Island of Hawaii and Oahu/ Mt. Maunakea (Subaru Observatory)
Objective: Coordinate for NHK Crew. Filming for a Japanese TV documentary concerning Subaru.

The following pictures are not quite in the order of each and specific events that took place while the trip but will serve as a good enough recap on what took place on a cool work journey.

On the mountain of Mounakea of the Island of Hawaii. On more than enough aspirin to get enough oxygen flowing. High altitude is a killer when you're not used to heights.  This picture was taken my Mr. I (one of the official camera guys from NHK). The gentleman to the left of me is Mr. O, the sound technician. Both gentlemen were very fun to work with! With the beautiful sky up above.

Inside Subaru Observatory

The above picture is the picture of the highest observatories in United States. Sunrise and sunset were tremendously beautiful. It was beyond belief. But the STARS were unbelievable.

If you can tell, my eyes were turning grey and my lips definitely  purple with altitude sickness. It's not cool. Dizziness, spell of sudden chills and nausea, dehydration, and sleepiness. Not the best condition to work under. My body oxygen content was only 60%. I would have died at sea level.

Not much said about the work itself. I know.
But work can be tremendously FUN.
Just wanted you to know.
